FM Muhriddin Meets Chinese Counterpart Yi

DUSHANBE, 11.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today in Xi’an, while on his official visit to China, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and expressed mutual interest in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and China in various fields.
The ministers also considered the implementation of the agreements reached during the telephone conversations between the leaders of Tajikistan and China, the signing of new bilateral documents, coordination of joint activities in various formats, including within the framework of meetings of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, and political consultations between the two ministries.
They stressed the importance of expanding trade, economic, investment, scientific, and technical ties between the two countries, as well as expanding inter-parliamentary relations, cooperation in the field of industry, energy, culture, and tourism.
The officials also discussed other issues relating to the expansion of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and China within the framework of international and regional organizations and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the meeting, the officials signed the Program of Cooperation Between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and China for 2021-2022.
