Foreign Minister Meets Governor of Shaanxi Province

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, while on his official visit to China, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Governor of Shaanxi Province Zhao Ide.
Muhriddin noted the special historical significance of the Shaanxi province as the cradle of Chinese civilization, as well as Xi’an as the city from which the Great Silk Road originates.
It was noted that the Chinese Shaanxi province and Khatlon region of Tajikistan have very close ties as twin regions. Additionally, Weinan and Danghara are twin cities.
The minister stressed that in the midst of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, a team of doctors and specialists arrived in Tajikistan from the Shaanxi province to help their Tajik colleagues.
The parties also discussed cooperation in agricultural, economic, humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of education.
