DUSHANBE, 30.09.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, who is in Dushanbe on a working visit.

At the outset of the meeting, President Rahmon emphasized the role of the prosecutor’s offices of the two nations in the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia

During the meeting the sides discussed pressing issues of cooperation with an emphasis on crime prevention, including the fight against transnational organized crime, ensuring of national, regional and international security, cybercrime, and the elimination of existing internal threats posed by various religious ideologies.

While discussing the developments in Afghanistan, the issues of combating terrorism, extremism and prevention of drug trafficking were also touched upon.

They noted the necessity of implementing the decision of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on the unified list of terrorist and extremist organizations prohibited within the CSTO space.

During the meeting the sides also discussed the collaboration of the prosecutor’s offices in the joint investigation of criminal cases, carrying out search operations, extradition and legal assistance in criminal cases, as well as protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the citizens of both countries.
