Speaker of the National Assembly Rustam Emomali Attends Meeting of the CIS IPA Council

DUSHANBE, 29.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today in Almaty, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tajikistan, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali attended and delivered a speech at the solemn meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS IPA) dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the CIS IPA, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia, Chairman of the Council of the National Assembly of Belarus, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Majlis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly, Chairman Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, and Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting focused on the issue “On the 30th anniversary of the CIS IPA” and adopted a statement by the CIS IPA Council “On the 30th anniversary of the CIS IPA.”
Members of the CIS IPA Council expressed their views on the important date — the 30th anniversary of the IPA and considered it necessary to further strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation within the organization.
Rustam Emomali stated that for 30 years the CIS IPA has proved the importance of its role and priority as a universal form of inter-parliamentary cooperation and today is recognized as an effective inter-parliamentary structure.
He noted that Tajikistan attaches particular importance to the activities of the CIS IPA and the chambers of the country’s parliament have established extensive cooperation with the structures of the Assembly.
“During this period, we actively used the format of the Assembly to strengthen political, economic and cultural relations between countries, maintain and deepen bilateral and multilateral ties with the CIS member states,” he added.
