DUSHANBE, 01.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The issues of improving nutrition in Tajikistan for 2021-2025 was discussed on March 30 in Dushanbe at the meeting of the Intersectoral Coordinating Council for the implementation of the multi-profile plan, reports the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population.
A report was also presented on the implementation of the plan by relevant ministries, departments, and development partners.
The importance of healthy nutrition for human development indicates its central role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, at least 12 of which consist of indicators that are directly related to nutrition.
Tajikistan joined the global food expansion movement in 2013. Nutrition has become a priority, firmly entrenched on the national development agenda, and the 2025 nutrition targets of the World Health Assembly and the Sustainable Development Goals have been formally adopted.
