Outcomes of the Dushanbe Second Water Conference Presented at a Special Event in Estonia

DUSHANBE, 30.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Fourth joint meeting of the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management and the Working Group on Monitoring and Assessment, marking the 30th anniversary of the Water Convention took place in Tallinn from June 28 through June 30.
On 29 June 2022 in the framework of the event the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Jamshed Homidov informed the participants on the outcomes of the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
In particular, he noted that the main objectives of the recently concluded Dushanbe Conference, which is a milestone towards the UN Water Conference to be hosted by Tajikistan and the Netherlands in 2023 in New York, were to promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals related to water, as well as to discuss further steps to implement the Plan for the Decade of Action at the global, regional and national levels.
