DUSHANBE, 20.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, a telephone conversation took place between the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The discussion focused on the results of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization which was held in Samarkand.
President Rahmon thanked his counterpart for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality, and noted his appreciation of the results of the meeting of the heads of state, which resulted in the adoption of a solid package of decisions and documents for various areas of the organization’s activities.
In addition, President Rahmon informed President Mirziyoyev about the latest developments on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border. They also discussed certain topical issues of Tajik-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership and alliance.
