Dushanbe Hosts Ceremony Presenting Projects Financed by the Japanese Government

DUSHANBE, 26.12.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 21, in order to demonstrate the level of cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan, Dushanbe hosted a ceremony presenting the implementation of several projects funded by the Japanese government.

As part of the program of an inclusive educational process, a resource class in which children with disabilities are educated and brought up was opened in the general education institution No. 15 of Hissor and several other educational institutions. In order to create an unhindered environment for children, especially for students who use wheelchairs, special paths have also been created. In resource classes, children are taught separately by teachers and experienced specialists.

On the basis of this project, children with disabilities are first trained in resource classes and then in general education classes.

In 2011, Tajikistan adopted the concept of inclusive and equal education. Inclusive education means that all children, regardless of disability, gender, nationality or economic status, will be taught in the same class.

Also, in the Sabo rural community of Shahrinav district, an additional building of the general educational institution No. 41 was put into operation, where schoolchildren study today. The new educational building was built as part of the Large Part of the Population Non-Return Assistance and Human Security Program (GGP) project in the amount of $90,622.

The institution consists of eight classrooms and one office. This project makes a valuable contribution to strengthening partnerships between countries in various areas of cooperation. Nearly 500 students study at the educational institution No. 41.

On the basis of this project, the City Health Center No. 13 of Dushanbe was equipped with modern medical equipment. The healthcare sector is under the constant attention of the leadership of both states.

Also, the City Health Center No. 13 was provided with modern X-ray equipment. This healthcare institution also received assistance for immunizing children against various infectious diseases.

City Health Center No. 13 in Dushanbe is one of the main healthcare institutions, and patients from all regions of the country apply to this healthcare institution. In 2021, it received $5.7 million.

In 2022, 57 pieces of equipment were transferred to the Ministry of Transport. From this assistance, three units of industry equipment were also allocated to the Road Maintenance Institution of the Rudaki district.

In 2022, Tajikistan and Japan marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Japan Support Program in Tajikistan began in 1996. To date, 449 humanitarian projects have been implemented based on this program, the total amount of which is $37,000,000. Of these, 143 projects were implemented in the field of education and 106 projects in the field of healthcare.
