National Museum of Tajikistan Prepares Cultural Program for Visitors

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In honor of the International Museum Day on May 18, from 18:00 through 23:00, the National Museum of Tajikistan will host the traditional program “Night at the Museum.”
This year’s event is different from previous years. It includes 24 cultural educational and educational programs for groups of spectators, minors, teenagers, youth and other sectors of society.
The National Museum will organize exhibitions of achievements “Prince of Farkhor,” “Princess of the Sassanids – Burondukht,” live exhibits “Omar Khayyam and Aburayhon Beruni,” a master class “Calligraphy,” a demonstration of folk crafts, playing musical instruments, a demonstration of archaeological excavations, art-face “Hin Patterns,” performance of Tajik music Falak, small embroidery, reflection of restoration and research activities, show concert of singers and children’s show evening ‘Cosmo Land.”
A documentary film “International Initiatives of Tajikistan” will also be shown on the exterior facade of the National Museum.
The action «Night at the Museum» was first held in 1997 in Berlin (Germany), and then in 1998 in France, England and Russia. For the first time the event was held in Tajikistan after the opening in 2013 of the new building of the National Museum in accordance with professional traditions.
Since 2013, the National Museum annually on May 18 holds the international action «Night at the Museum,» dedicated to the International Museum Day. The purpose of its holding is to promote the cultural policy of Tajikistan in attracting various segments of society to the museum, presenting the heritage of ancestors, a large-scale information and educational event covering various areas of culture, presenting the museum as a modern educational platform.
The International Museum Day is celebrated in 150 countries around the world.
