Three Tajik Boxers Reach the Second Round of the 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Tashkent

DUSHANBE, 03.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships continues in Tashkent. Yesterday Tajikistan was represented by four boxers Parviz Karimov (86 kg), Bahodur Usmonov (63.5 kg), Nekruz Salimov (75 kg) and Shabbos Negmatulloev (80 kg).
In the 86 kg category, Karimov defeated the Iranian boxer Amin Majnuni with a score of 5:0, and in the 63.5 kg category, Usmonov beat the Tanzanian boxer Alex Isendi Michel with the same score.
Additionally, Salimov (75 kg) in the first round knocked out a boxer from the Comoros Mdahom Mohamed.
Another Tajik boxer, Negmatulloev (80 kg) lost to Azerbaijani boxer Murad Allahverdiyev by a split decision with a score of 1:4.
Today there will be fights between Abubakr Murodzoda (60 kg) and Daniyal Shakhbakhsh, as well as Dovud Mahkamov (71 kg) and Maxim Pilipek.
The total prize fund of the 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships is $5.2 million. First place winners in all weight categories will receive $200,000, silver medalists $100,000 and bronze medalists $50,000.
