DUSHANBE, 21.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorable Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of the strategic partnership and alliance between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and deliberated on the ways of their further development.

In this context, the positive trend of steady development of trade between the two countries was mentioned with satisfaction. In this process, diversification and structural expansion of goods and products in mutual trade was considered one of the most important tasks. In this regard, the Leader of the Nation pointed to the abundant opportunities in various sectors of industry, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism and other areas of mutual interest. At the same time, light and food industry, non-ferrous and ferrous metals, automotive industry, as well as the agro-industrial complex were named as promising directions.

Particular attention was paid to the active expansion of direct economic relations between economic entities and business circles in the real sector of the economy, further development of cooperation at the regional level.

The interlocutors expressed their desire to expand cultural and humanitarian exchange.

Our Head of State emphasized the importance of the active work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation with a view to reaching the goals of greater strengthening of cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The sides expressed their readiness for joint efforts to promote the entire range of relations and cooperation.
