Preparation Process for the Third High-Level Water Conference in Dushanbe Began

DUSHANBE, 22.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The meeting of the International Advisory Committee of the Dushanbe Water Process to promote the implementation of the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028», as well as to hold the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Water Decade for Action, which will be held in June 2024 in Dushanbe, was held on August 20 as part of the World Water Week in Stockholm (Sweden).
The meeting was held in a hybrid format, co-chaired by the Special Envoy of the President of Tajikistan to the Coalition of Leaders for Water and Climate Sulton Rahimzoda and the World Bank Global Water Practice Director Saroj Kumar Jha.
Rahimzoda presented the outcomes of the UN Water Conference 2023, which took place in March this year in New York, as well as the possibilities of using the Dushanbe Water Process and other mechanisms as platforms to track the implementation of the results of the UN Water Conference 2023.
The participants exchanged views on the draft Concept and structural program, topics of interactive dialogues, as well as possible outcome documents of the Third High-Level International Conference on the International Water Decade for Action.
