New York Hosts Preparatory Ministerial Meeting for the Summit of the Future

DUSHANBE, 23.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 21, on the margins of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting for the Summit of the Future.
In his statement, Muhriddin noted that the Summit of the Future is a unique chance to intensify cooperation in solving contemporary challenges and reaffirming the commitments of member states, including on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Minister also addressed issues of environment, water and climate and emphasized the significance of Tajikistan’s initiative to declare 2025 — the Year of Glacier Preservation in joining forces to ensure the resilience of societies and economies affected by the rapid melting of glaciers.
