DUSHANBE, 25.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 22, on the sidelines of a high-level event entitled “Celebrating World Water Day 2024: Converging Efforts, Keeping the Momentum of Progress” in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the UN Deputy Secretary-General, head of the counter-terrorism department, Vladimir Voronkov.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation and prospects for the development of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN in the field of combating terrorism and extremism, security issues in the region, monitoring the implementation of relevant programs, as well as other relevant topics.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the organization of joint international events within the framework of the “Dushanbe Process on Combating Terrorism and Its Financing.”
