Number of Unemployed Citizens Decreases in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 11.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The number of unemployed citizens in Tajikistan has decreased significantly, reports the Department of Demography, Employment and Social Statistics of the Agency for Statistics.
At the end of December 2023, the number of officially registered unemployed, according to labor and employment agencies of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population, amounted to 48,300 people, which is 9.7% less than in December 2022.
According to the department’s data, 46.3% of the total number of unemployed citizens of Tajikistan are women.
The officially registered unemployment rate relative to the labor force is estimated at 1.8%. Responsible persons associate the reduction in unemployment with the holding of job fairs and the opening of new socio-economic and production facilities that create new jobs.
