Khujand, Tabriz look to further strengthen friendship

DUSHANBE, 21.10.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On October 17th, 2024, as part of a working visit to Tabriz city, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Iran Nizomiddin Zohidi met with the Mayor of Tabriz Yaqub Husyar.
According to the Tajik Embassy in Tehran, during the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of sister city relations between Khujand and Tabriz, and also considered the personality of the great poet and scholar Kamoli Khujandi, whose grave is in Tabriz, as a link between these two ancient cities.
The parties considered it necessary to organize days of culture and art in Khujand and Tabriz, exchange delegations of representatives of science and literature, organize trade and economic exhibitions as well as other programs in order to stimulate relations between sister cities.
