Consultations on Information Cooperation Held Among SCO Member States’ Foreign Ministries
DUSHANBE, 18.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – In accordance with the 2025 Cooperation Plan between the foreign ministries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, a round of consultations on information policy was held on July 16 at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under the chairmanship of the Chinese side. The event took place in a hybrid format.
According to the SCO Secretariat, the heads of delegations exchanged views on enhancing media engagement and strengthening the Organization’s global public image.
Director of the Department of Information, Mass Communications, and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mao Ning, presented a summary of activities carried out under China’s SCO chairmanship in the area of press relations. She also shared plans for media coverage of the upcoming SCO Council of Heads of State meeting, scheduled for August 31–September 1, 2025, in Tianjin.
The Secretariat also presented a report summarizing SCO public outreach activities from July 2024 to July 2025.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between the press services of SCO foreign ministries and agreed to take joint steps to counter the spread of disinformation in the media space.
