Tajikistan, ADB discuss water management and energy cooperation in Dushanbe

Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma met in Dushanbe with Jiangfeng Zhang of the Asian Development Bank to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on sustainable water management.
According to ministry, the talks also covered the efficient use of hydropower potential and the implementation of joint projects.
Both sides highlighted the strategic importance of the “Tajik Sea” reservoir for ensuring water and energy security in Tajikistan and across the region, stressing the need for improved management, enhanced monitoring and more efficient use of water resources.
They also discussed attracting investment, introducing innovative technologies and strengthening sector capacity, expressing readiness to deepen cooperation on priority initiatives.
