Tajikistan exported nearly 37,000 tons of dried fruits in the first five months of 2026, including more than 11,000 tons of dried apricots, the Ministry of Agriculture said.
The ministry said 1,200 tons of fresh apricots were also exported during the same period.
In 2025, Tajikistan exported 104,000 tons of dried fruits, including 31,000 tons of apricots, along with 6,500 tons of fresh apricots, according to official figures.
Officials attributed the increase in dried apricot exports to rising international market prices, noting that dried products are more cost-effective for storage and transportation and have higher export value.
They said agricultural exports support economic growth, create jobs and attract investment, contributing to improved living standards.
Authorities also said a draft law on export support has been developed to promote exports of finished goods, strengthen value-added production chains, and expand access to new markets while improving transport and logistics infrastructure.
The government approved a State Program for Export Development for 2026–2030 in November 2025, aimed at further strengthening export capacity.
