Tajikistan Seeks to Expand Air Connectivity With CIS Countries

Today, a working meeting of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) was held in Moscow, attended by Habibullo Nazarzoda, director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency, the meeting focused on key issues in civil aviation, including strengthening flight safety, implementing international standards and recommendations, expanding regional and international cooperation, opening new air routes between Tajikistan and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, improving aviation services and sharing best practices.
Participants also discussed strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in civil aviation, coordinating the activities of relevant agencies and creating favorable conditions for the further development of the aviation sector.
Tajikistan assumed the chairmanship of the CIS Council on Aviation and Airspace Use on Jan. 1, 2026. The chairmanship provides Tajikistan with an opportunity to contribute to stronger regional cooperation, closer coordination and the promotion of joint initiatives in civil aviation.
The chairmanship is expected to give further impetus to the development of civil aviation across CIS member states and strengthen Tajikistan’s role in international aviation cooperation.
