DUSHANBE, 27.04.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The fifth ethno-jazz festival will be held on April 28 – 30 in Dushanbe. Musical groups of Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Turkey, USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will demonstrate their skills. The opening will take place in Tajik State Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. Ayni.
According to the Ministry of Culture of the country, the event is devoted to the Year of youth announced by the Leader of the Nation — President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
“Ethno-jazz festival is held here in our republic since 2010 for the fifth time. Along with the luminaries of the musical art it will be attended by many young players. In particular, in collectives representing Tajikistan, will attend the graduates of our universities, schools, Music College and Conservatory. Many musicians come to us not for the first time, they have their fans here. In addition, the festival is a platform for exchange of experience”, — said the chief specialist of the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan Tolib Norov.
As part of festival there will be held a series of workshops and a round table, during which the ways of ethno-jazz development in Central Asia and the world will be discussed.
The main purpose of the festival is to encourage musical experimentation and development of music genres based on traditional music, as well as to promote the strengthening of international and regional cooperation in the field of culture.
“One of the clearest examples of cultural exchange among musicians will be a joint performance of the participants of Central Asian groups – “Inter orchestra” under the direction of composer Jasur Khalilov, who will unite the music of different peoples in his work”, — “Bactria” cultural center reported.
The initiator of the festival is the Swiss Cooperation Office in Tajikistan, and it is organized by cultural centre “Bactria”» and the Tajik National Conservatory named after T. Sattorov with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
