Foreign Minister Aslov thanks Energy Charter Head for supporting CASA-1000 Project
In the framework of participation in the sixth meeting of Cooperation Council between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov met with the Secretary General of the Energy Charter Urban Rusnak.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Departmnet, during the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Energy Charter.
The importance of discussing and sharing experience with the Energy Charter on energy security, as well as the role of this organization in the context of efforts to create a legal framework for global energy security was emphasized.
Aslov thanked the Secretary General of the Energy Charter for supporting the CASA-1000 project and expressed his interest in strengthening cooperation for the development of Tajikistan’s hydropower.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the possibility of involving the Energy Charter in the implementation of energy projects of the European Union in the territory of Central Asian countries.
