Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia Sign US$ 35 Million Loan Agreement
The Government of Tajikistan has signed loan agreement totaling US$ 35 million (131.3 million Saudi riyals) with Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Tuesday to obtain financing for the implementation of the Construction and the Equipment of Schools Project, Phase 4.
According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance press office, the signing ceremony, which took place in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia, was attended by Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Vice Chairman and Managing Director Yousef Ibrahim Al-Bassam and Abdusalom Qurboniyon, Finance Minister of Tajikistan.
The project aims to support enhancement of the education sector in Tajikistan by means of construction and equipment of a number of schools in the districts of Muminobod, Khovaling, Baljuvon, Danghara, Shamsiddin Shohin, Kulob, Vose, Dousti, Jomi, Devashtich, Istaravshan, Panjakent, Asht, Konibodom, Mastchoh, Varzob, Rudaki, Vahdat and Nurobod.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
