The visit of the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan to Russia
Dushanbe. 10.04.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On 8-9 Aprel 2018, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Aslov paid an official visit to Russia at the invitation of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
A statement by the Tajik MFA Information Department indicated that in the course of the talks, Aslov and Lavrov reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russia.
The two ministers paid special attention to the implementation of the results of the Tajik- Russian summit held in February 2017.
Aslov and Lavrov also exchange views on a broad range of current global and regional issues, as well as issues related to providing regional security and expansion of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
The meeting reportedly resulted in signing of the program of cooperation between the foreign ministries of Tajikistan and the Russia Federation for 2018.
It was noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a visit to Dushanbe on February 27, 2017, and met with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon. The Russian leader described the current level of Russia’s relations with Tajikistan as strategic partnership.
