Issues of strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations entities discussed in New York
DUSHANBE, 21.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of his working visit to the New York, on September 20 met with Ms. María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, President of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly at the UN Headquarters, the Tajik MFA Information Department reported.
The Foreign Minister congratulated Ms. Espinosa on her election as the President of the UN General Assembly and expressed willingness of Tajikistan to work closely with the UN General Assembly President’s Office in facilitating the fulfillment of international commitments and addressing the current global challenges.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of strengthening the cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations entities, as well as had an exchange of views on the issues of regional security and the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDGs related to water and sanitation.
