Conference on the 400th Anniversary of Sayido Nasafi Mirobid
DUSHANBE, 13.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – An international conference titled “Sayido Nasafi Mirobod and cultural-literary transformations in Transoxiana” took place today in the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (AST).
The conference is devoted to the 400th anniversary of the great poet’s birth, reported the AST.
Scientists, historians, and representatives of Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, Iran and India took part in the conference.
The discussions included the subjects of philosophical ideologies, political and social transformation of the period, the situation of artisans, religious schools, as well as the reflections of the political situation in historical and literary works of the author.
Though famous for his writing, Mirobid worked as a weaver and lived in great poverty, despite being offered the position of the court poet. He wrote mostly about the hard life of artisans and the difficult political situation of the region. The origin of the world and humanity was also skillfully weaved into his works. He was a critic of internecine wars, the vices of the ruling elite and despotism of the rulers.
Various conferences, seminars, exhibitions, forums, and crafts programs in honor of Mirobid are scheduled to be held in Tajikistan in 2018-2019.
