Deputy Chairman of Khatlon Province Makhfirat Khidirzoda and female scientists from universities of Bokhtar, Kulob and Danghara attended the conference, reported NIAT Khovar’s regional correspondent.
“Since state independence the attitude toward the role of women in society has changed significantly. We see how women today are successfully engaged in social activities and entrepreneurship, hold leadership positions and thus make a significant contribution to state’s development,” said Khidirzoda in her speech.
“The number of females engaged in science in the country is growing every year and it once again shows that the country’s leadership pays special attention to the role of women in society. The government and the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon constantly pay attention to raising the status of women in society. Particularly, a number of programs are being implemented,” added Khidirzoda.
On February 11, the whole world community celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It was created at the initiative of the International Telecommunication Union calling on women and girls to actively take part in the development of modern technologies of television information.
