Books Authored by President Emomali Rahmon Now Part of The British Library Collection
DUSHANBE, 11.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Ambassador of Tajikistan to the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Masud Khalifazoda met with the Head of the Department of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Collection Colin Baker and the Head of the Department of Asian and African Collection of the British Library Luisa Elena Mengoni.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues relating to the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement between the National Library of Tajikistan and the British Library, holding exhibitions, exchange visits of representatives of the relevant agencies of the two countries, attracting library’s fellowships for Tajikistan and other issues of mutual interests, reported the Tajik Embassy in London.
Khalifazoda also presented books by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the collection of the British Library.
The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and the largest national library in the world by the number of items catalogued. It is estimated to contain 200 million items from many countries. The British Library is a major research library, with items in many languages and in many formats, both print and digital.
Khalifazoda also met with the Deputy Chief Air Services Negotiator Tamara Goodwin and Bilateral Negotiations Manager of the UK Department for Transport Samantha Sheridan.
The parties discussed the issues relating to the air service agreement between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom and the further development of cooperation on civil aviation.
