CICA’s Special Working Group and Senior Officials Committee Started Work in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 14.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Special Working Group and Senior Officials Committee of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) started their two-day work under the chairmanship of Tajikistan today at the National Library in Dushanbe.
This is the first such meeting between senior experts of CICA member-states where discussion issues on the agenda include not only the usual CICA dimensions (military-political, economic, environmental, human, and fight against new challenges and threats), but also the organizational issues and the content of the upcoming CICA Summit scheduled for the 15 June 2019 in Dushanbe, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of 22 CICA member-states, CICA Secretariat along with three countries and one organization as observers are taking part at the meeting.
Last year in September, during a special CICA’s foreign ministers meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Tajikistan assumed CICA chairmanship for the first time.
