President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon Attended the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 26.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan delivered remarks at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.
In his speech, President Emomali Rahmon voiced his gratitude to the Chinese side for organizing the forum and noted that many global problems such as economic crisis, conflicts, climate change and social inequality face the world and humanity at large. The Belt and Road Initiative’s proposals are a timely and necessary requirement for solving these problems and they combine the economic interests of many states.
President Emomali Rahmon noted that Tajikistan and China share common borders, good-neighborly relations and friendship that have a deep centuries-old roots, and that Tajikistan has stood at the famous crossroads of trade routes connecting the East and West and due to its special position has facilitated the development of worldwide trade.
He expressed his confidence that the participating countries of the Belt and Road Initiative will use their mutual experience and technological investment opportunities for implementing promising the necessary infrastructure projects. In this context, it was noted that Tajikistan has all the necessary resources for the development of regional power, communication, industrial, agrarian and tourist projects.
At the end of his speech, President Emomali Rahmon expressed his confidence that the participating countries of the Belt and Road Initiative would put effort into strengthening relations, cultivating friendship, trust and mutual understanding between each other.
