DUSHANBE, 28.08.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saifullaev organized a press conference following the opening of the 12th International Sharq Taronalari Festival yesterday in Samarkand.

Replying to Khovar’s correspondent Khushnud Rahmatulloev about the state of cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Saifulloev noted the following:

“Thanks to the tireless efforts of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we have opened a new era, a new history in the relations of cultural and humanitarian exchange between the two countries. The presidents have opened borders, and at present there are no obstacles to the development of relations. Our artists are happy to travel to Tajikistan and give concerts there. Our doors are also open for Tajik residents. We provide any venue on which Tajik artists wish to perform. Tajik artists often come to us. We have repeatedly held Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Tajikistan and Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Uzbekistan with the participation of both presidents. We speak different languages, but always understood each other at a glance. Therefore, I want to wish the Tajik people a clear sky, happiness, and success.”
