Uzbek Culture Days Opens in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 13.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday evening, Uzbekistan’s Culture Days officially opened at the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni in Dushanbe.
The Assistant to the President of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda, Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Sayfulloev, officials of both countries, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan attended the opening ceremony.
A photo exhibition titled Modern Uzbekistan was organized in the lobby of the theater.
While opening the concert program, Orumbekzoda noted that the friendship between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan has been and will remain stable and long-lasting.
Sayfulloev thanked for organization of this important event toward strengthening rapprochement of the two states.
The People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Sherali Juraev, Uzbek folk singers Gulomjon Yokubov, Mahmud Namozov, and groups Makom and Tashkent Zebolari performed in the concert program.
Yesterday, before the opening of this cultural event, Orumbekzoda met with his Uzbek counterpart at the National Library. Following the meeting both ministers held a press conference for media representatives.

“Tajik artists actively participate in various cultural events in Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek cultural representatives in Tajik events. Almost all areas of culture have reached a new level of cooperation,” said Orumbekzoda.
“This is not the first or last organization of Uzbek Culture Days in Tajikistan. I am pleased to visit this country again. There are no barriers between our states today. Our presidents have opened a new era in cultural and humanitarian exchange. In 2018 and for 10 months of 2019, many joint events have been held, including the most recent tour of the artists of the Tajik State Academic Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni to the cities of Bukhara, Samarkand and Navoi,» noted Sayfulloev.
