Tajik Minister of Education Imomzoda Meets with Japanese Ambassador Miyashita
DUSHANBE, 16.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda received the Japanese Ambassador to Tajikistan Takayuki Miyashita.
The meeting focused on cooperation in education and science.
“The cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan in the field of education and science was established on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement and the protocol of the meeting of the Tajik and Japanese Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation,” said Minister Imomzoda.
“The study of Japanese is currently established in three higher professional education institutions of Tajikistan, including the Tajik State Institute of Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, the Panjikent Tajik Pedagogical Institute and the Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University,” informed Imomzoda.
A contest for those proficient in Japanese is held annually. Individuals who are fluent are sent to Japan to study and improve their knowledge, and professional linguists from Japan are recruited to teach in the aforementioned institutions.
In 2019, three general educational institutions were commissioned in Rogun, Tursunzoda, Fayzobod district costing 3.6 million somoni by the initiative of the Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe and with the financing from the Japan government.
