International Day of Women and Girls in Science Celebrated in Kulob

BOKHTAR, 10.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – A scientific conference devoted to women and the development of modern knowledge, timed to coincide with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, was held on February 9 at the Abuabdullah Rudaki Kulob University.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Regional Department for Women and Family Affairs, Kulob administration officials, and students of universities.
Over 112 scientific articles were submitted, of which 32 were recognized as the best.
Science and gender equality are integral elements of the process of achieving sustainable development until 2030. Over the past 15 years, the international community has made significant progress in involving women and girls in science.
Due to the measures taken in the Khatlon region, the number of women scientists is increasing every year. Today there are already 66 women scientists in the region.
Following the conference, women who contributed to the development of science were encouraged with diplomas.
