Dushanbe Hosts CSTO Ministerial Council Meeting Today

DUSHANBE, 19.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will take place today in Dushanbe.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin will preside over the meeting which will be attended by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
The ministers will discuss the state and prospects for the development of the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the organization’s member states.
They are expected to adopt a number of important political statements regarding the cooperation of the CSTO with international organizations, the extension of START-3 and the 75th anniversary of the verdict of the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.
They will also consider the Plan of Consultations on Foreign Policy, Security and Defense for the second half of 2021 — the first half of 2022, and the Action Plan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty, and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the CSTO.
The Foreign Ministers are expected to be received by the Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
