DUSHANBE, 26.06.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended and addressed the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Midterm comprehensive review of the implementation of the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the main problems of the world’s population with regard to ensuring access to water and sanitation and stressed the importance of the Water Action Decade for drawing the attention of the international community to these issues.
S. Muhriddin also expressed the readiness of the Republic of Tajikistan to contribute to the implementation of the water goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda through the Dushanbe Water Process platform.
The regional meeting was held in the framework of the International Water Week in Singapore, in which stakeholders from the Asia-Pacific region exchanged views on the results of their common efforts and shared best practices in implementation of SDG 6 and International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
