UNODC Regional Office Expresses Readiness To Provide Technical Assistance to Tajik Border Guards

DUSHANBE, 07.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in Tashkent, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda met with the Regional Representative of the United Nations Department of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Central Asia Ashita Mittal.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNODC, as well as discussed issues of interaction in the field of combating drug trafficking, border management and building national capacity.
The parties also exchanged views on the current situation on the Tajik-Afghan border.
The UNODC representative, sharing the concern about the situation on the Tajik border, expressed readiness to provide technical assistance to the Tajik border guards.
