DUSHANBE, 18.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon conferred state awards and certificates to 120 individuals for their outstanding achievements in science, education, culture, technology, literature, health care, and manufacturing.
The ceremony took place in the Kasri Millat. Among those who received orders and medals were public figures, civil servants, figures from the field of culture and arts, teachers, workers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of other professions.
Before the awarding ceremony, President Rahmon addressed the audience and in his speech noted that the awarding of representatives of various professions, as well as loyal and respected senior member of society, is a symbol of gratitude for their merits in the development of various sectors of the national economy.
“Independence and freedom are the greatest blessings and the most valuable achievements of the Tajik nation after 1000 years of statelessness,» he said.
“State independence has become a turning point for the Tajik people and provided the people of Tajikistan with a unique historical opportunity to create a civilized state that meets the interests of its people, building the foundations of its modern statehood,» he added.
He also emphasized that until today, a lot has been done on the development of industry, transport, energy, construction, private sector, exports, development of new irrigated land, development of agriculture, tourism, science, education, health care, social protection of the population, culture, youth policy, women and family, and sports.
«The government continues to pursue a peaceful and constructive foreign policy,» he added.
Thirty four individuals received the Honored Worker of Tajikistan award, two received the Honored People’s Writer of Tajikistan, five were awarded with the Honored People’s Artist of Tajikistan, one individual received the Honored Artist of Tajikistan, one person received the Order of Friendship, the Order of Sharaf in 1st class was awarded to two people, and two people received the Order of Sharaf in 2nd class. Twenty nine people were awarded the Khizmati Shoista, four received the Jubilee Medal for the 30th Anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, and two received the Certificate of the Government of Tajikistan.
Twelve scientists were awarded with the 2021 Ismoili Somoni Prize in the field of science and technology. Fifteen teachers of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences were also decorated with state awards.
