Tajikistan and Turkey Expand Health Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 09.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda met with Turkish Ambassador to Tajikistan Emre Zeki Karagöl.
Initially Abdullozoda expressed his impressions of participation in the Digital Health Conference and Exhibition, which was held earlier in November in Antalya.
Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan and that of Turkey within the framework of sectoral agreements began in 1996 and is currently in the development stage.
As part of the meeting of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission, the Turkish side proposed to sign a new intergovernmental agreement in the field of health and medical science focusing on public health and the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan expresses interest in their implementation.
They also exchanged views on the training of Tajik specialists in endoscopic surgery and public health with a focus on virology, microbiology, and epidemiology through training courses in Turkey.
They also expressed interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
