Film Devoted to Tajik and Hungarian Relations Shown at the Urania Cinema Palace

DUSHANBE, 14.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On February 11 in Budapest, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Hungary, the film The Lame Dervish — a joint work of Tajik and Hungarian screenwriters and directors, filmed in 1986, was shown at the Urania Cinema Palace.
The film is based on the memoirs of the Hungarian orientalist and historian Arminius Vambery and his impressions of a trip to Central Asia in 1863-1864, acquaintance with the Tajik people, their history, language, culture, and customs.
Representatives of state institutions, scientific and cultural circles, as well as diplomatic corps in Budapest took part in the event.
