FM Muhrddin Meets US Secretary of State Blinken

DUSHANBE, 28.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, in Washington DC, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the US in the political, economic, humanitarian spheres and security cooperation.
The officials exchanged views on the use of broad opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the programs of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The meeting also focused on the current situation in Afghanistan and noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the fight against modern challenges and threats, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and exchanged views on important regional and global issues.
The parties discussed the importance of the C5+1 platform for the region and the current situation on the Tajik — Afghan border.
