Strategy for Regulating Migration Processes in Tajikistan for Period up to 2040 Presented in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 26.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Strengthening the organized process of sending labor migrants to different countries is one of the main goals of the Strategy for regulating migration processes in Tajikistan for the period up to 2040. Currently, migrant workers travel to 13 countries. It was emphasized at a round table held in Dushanbe.
The event also focused on the importance, concept and aspects of the strategy implementation.
It was said that in order to regulate the migration process in Tajikistan, the government has adopted this strategy, which covers all areas of internal and external migration.
The strategy is an important socio-economic step for Tajikistan and was developed to achieve the goals of the National Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 in the direction of migration, taking into account today’s migration conditions, positive trends in sustainability, alternative development, prospects and socio-economic policy of the republic.
The strategy is implemented in six stages and for the first time within the framework of a single strategy for regulating the process of all types of population migration (labor migration, external migration, internal migration, environmental migration, refugees and asylum seekers).
Conducting an analysis of the current regulatory legal acts in the direction of population migration, making amendments and additions to them, developing and implementing a mechanism for electronic registration of the migration process at the level of the regions, creating a Public Council in the migration service with the involvement of state authorities, international and non-governmental organizations, improving the system of preparation before the visit of migrant workers, creating a social fund support for migrant workers and their family members, publication of the results of monitoring and evaluation of the strategy, etc are among the most important events that should be implemented within the framework of this strategy.
The strategy defines goals and objectives, analysis of the current situation, problems, indicators, main directions and mechanisms for the implementation of the State Migration Policy of Tajikistan.
