Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Participates in Celebratory Events at UNESCO Headquarters

DUSHANBE, 12.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 11, in Paris, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, participated in and delivered a speech at the ceremony dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) and the 60th anniversary of UNESCO’s water sciences.
Minister praised UNESCO’s efforts and achievements in the field of water sciences.
It was noted that the goal of Tajikistan’s international initiatives in the area of water resources and glaciers’ protection is to draw global attention to existing challenges and to seek solutions through water diplomacy and the rational use of water resources.
In this context, it was emphasized that Tajikistan, as one of the leading international initiators in the field of water resources, remains committed to strengthening cooperation with UNESCO and its member states to advance the global water agenda, expand scientific research in water-related fields, and implement practical measures in support of international water initiatives.
