DUSHANBE, 19.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – In his congratulatory message on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, highlighted the high status of parents, noting: “The religion of Islam regards respect for the dignity and status of parents as one of its highest values and places service to them above all forms of worship. In this regard, a hadith states that showing kindness to one’s parents is superior to prayer, fasting, and the pilgrimage (Hajj and Umrah).”
The President also emphasized the importance of fairness in the buying and selling of goods and products, refraining from lavish and costly feasts, and avoiding excessive consumption of rich and high-calorie foods during this month, noting that such practices are fundamentally inconsistent with the essence of this blessed month.
The Leader of the Nation stressed that the honorable people of Tajikistan correctly comprehend the wisdom of the month of Ramadan and, with sincere intentions and pure hearts, engage in worship and devotion, thereby further strengthening the atmosphere of peace, stability, unity, and mutual understanding in our beloved country.
He further noted that piety, generosity toward others, extending a helping hand to those in need, providing assistance to relatives within one’s means and capacity, and performing other righteous and charitable deeds are among the values for which Muslims receive greater spiritual reward during this month.
“A person who performs one good deed or an act of charity in this blessed month is like one who has performed seventy obligatory acts outside of this month,” the Leader of the Nation emphasized.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan also stated that a key condition for the acceptance of charitable deeds is that they be carried out with sincerity, while observing moderation in their performance, and avoiding extravagance, ostentation, and excess.
