National Conference to Be Held Marking the 115th Anniversary of Hero of Tajikistan Mirzo Tursunzoda

DUSHANBE, 20.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – A national scientific and practical conference titled “Mirzo Tursunzoda – a National Poet and an Outstanding Global Figure” will be held on 5 May this year in Dushanbe to mark the 115th anniversary of the People’s Poet of Tajikistan, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and Hero of Tajikistan, Mirzo Tursunzoda.
The conference is organized by the Rudaki Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and will bring together scholars, linguists, literary critics, and researchers.
The conference programme will address a wide range of topics, including “Mirzo Tursunzoda as a Champion of Peace and Friendship,” “The Role of Mirzo Tursunzoda in the Formation of Modern Tajik Literature,” “Mirzo Tursunzoda as a Patriotic Poet,” “Promotion of National and Humanistic Ideas in the Works of Mirzo Tursunzoda,” “Mirzo Tursunzoda and Mutual Influence in Literature,” “The Contribution of Mirzo Tursunzoda to the Expansion of Intercultural Literary Relations,” as well as the lexical, stylistic, morphological, and syntactic features of his literary heritage.
Mirzo Tursunzoda is recognized as a great son of the Tajik people who consistently celebrated the homeland and ancestral land in his poetry.
As the Head of State emphasized, “the sincere love of the eminent Mirzo Tursunzoda for his ancestral land and the soil of the Motherland will undoubtedly serve as a supreme example and source of inspiration for many generations of the nation.”
