Dear compatriots,
Dear residents of Dushanbe,
Guests and distinguished attendees,
I sincerely congratulate all of you on the occasion of the International Holiday of Navruz.
Navruz is one of the oldest and most significant holidays in human history. It symbolizes the awakening of nature, the arrival of a new year and new life, the purity and elevation of the spirit and thought, as well as the strengthening and dissemination of humanistic and moral values.
This holiday is among the most ancient rituals, reflecting the philosophy of life, the school of self-awareness, and the cultural history and civilization of our Aryan ancestors.
Navruz holds a special place among our national rituals—Sada, Tirgon, and Mehrgon—and over more than six millennia has experienced numerous ups and downs.
There were times when the scope of celebrating this beautiful ancient holiday was limited, and at times it seemed nearly forgotten. Yet it never disappeared from the hearts and memories of our people, because its roots run deep in the nation’s gene pool and the essence of a cultured and civilized people.
Our glorious ancestors preserved this sacred heritage as a priceless national treasure, passing it from generation to generation. Today, it has become a fundamental and integral part of the national identity, culture, and worldview of the Tajik people.
Over time, Navruz and its humanistic values have spread to other regions and are now recognized as a global heritage of humanity.
In today’s world, full of contradictions, Navruz has become a bridge of friendship between peoples, a factor of peace and mutual understanding, an example of coexistence among civilizations, and is recognized by the international community as an international holiday.
The wisdom behind Navruz’s millennia-long endurance and significance lies primarily in the fact that this holiday is not tied to any particular religion or creed.
Its foundation is the law of nature—the transition from frost to warmth, the equinox, the springtime equality, and the start of a new life cycle. In other words, Navruz is a celebration of both nature and humanity.
Moreover, Navruz calls us to kindness and nobility.
“Good thoughts, good words, and good deeds”—this is the fundamental philosophy of Navruz, which later underpinned the spiritual rites and beliefs of humanity.
It is no coincidence that strengthening unity and friendship, cleansing hearts of enmity and hatred, helping those in need, visiting the sick, and supporting orphans and people with disabilities are among the finest humanistic traditions of Navruz.
Especially in today’s world, when the need for peace and understanding is greater than ever, these noble and humane values of Navruz can serve humanity in an invaluable way.
Recognizing the significance and importance of this ancient ritual, we decided to establish an International Navruz Center in the capital of our beloved country, Dushanbe.
This initiative is not only a tribute to the past but also an investment in the cultural development of our nation, as only a people who preserve and strengthen their cultural and civilizational values can ensure a bright and prosperous future.
It is gratifying to note that on December 10, 2025, at the 20th session of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, one of the valuable traditional manifestations of Navruz—the national nomination of Tajikistan titled “Culture of Sumanak Preparation” was inscribed on the UNESCO Heritage Register.
I would also like to remind you that other Navruz rituals and traditions, such as “Sezdah-badari Navruz,” “Dastarkhan Navruz—Haft Sin and Haft Shin,” the Jamshed Festival, and characteristic Navruz sports games, also have global significance as part of the heritage of Aryan civilization, including for the Tajik people.
As heirs of true Aryan civilization, we are obliged to continue preserving Navruz traditions, assimilating its values, disseminating them, and passing them on to future generations in all their beauty and grandeur.
We must always remember that preserving Navruz is preserving the identity and self-awareness of the ancient and civilized Tajik people.
Along this path, we must not forget that fostering patriotism and love for the Motherland, high national sentiments, strong will, mastery of science, knowledge, and crafts, and preparing young people—the future builders of the nation and state—is the sacred duty of every adult.
Our youth must study the history, culture, and eternal values of their nation, share them, continuously strive to master science, knowledge, and crafts, possess the skills to build and develop the Motherland, contribute to the progress of the state, and strengthen its prestige on the international stage.
Dear compatriots,
This year, as we celebrate Navruz in preparation for the sacred and grand celebration of the 35th anniversary of our state’s independence, we must redouble our efforts and work diligently to make our sovereign country strong and prosperous, and to improve the standard and quality of life for our people.
Thirty-five years may seem a brief moment in history, but for the Tajik people, this period is highly significant.
During this time, we Tajiks have reaffirmed ourselves as a civilized and cultured people, possessing self-awareness, statehood, and the ability to create, presenting ourselves to the world.
I declare with full confidence that through unity and mutual understanding, patience and perseverance, sincere work, and strong will, we will realize our creative plans, achieve our strategic national goals, transform our beloved Tajikistan into an even more prosperous country, and make its capital, Dushanbe, a true reflection of the Tajik state.
With these noble intentions, I once again sincerely congratulate all citizens of our esteemed country, including residents of the capital, our compatriots abroad, and the peoples of the Navruz civilization, on the advent of the International Holiday of Navruz.
May every home celebrate this sacred and joyful holiday in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, with joy and merriment, in unity and harmony, performing good and creative deeds!
May Navruz bring light to our hearts, prosperity and abundance to our lives, and peace and eternal unity to our beloved country!
I wish health, happiness, and well-being to every Tajik home as a gift this Navruz!
Happy Navruz, dear compatriots!
