Tajikistan Eyes Renewable Energy Boost With 500-MW Solar Initiative

A Chinese company, SETS, plans to build and commission a 500-megawatt solar power plant in Tajikistan’s Khatlon region, according to discussions held March 28 between regional authorities and company representatives.
Khatlon Regional Chairman Davlatali Said met with representatives of the company to review the proposed large-scale energy project and related cooperation issues.
Officials said the project is expected to help address electricity supply challenges, support the development of renewable energy sources and contribute to environmental protection.
The two sides also discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, noting that strengthened ties could support sustainable regional development and improve living standards.
