A Republican scientific and theoretical conference titled “Ancient Khuttal in the Historical and Cultural Continuity of Central Asia and the Formation of the National Identity of the Tajik People” will be held May 5.
According to the Akhmad Donish Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the inscription of the historical and cultural heritage sites of Ancient Khuttal on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The conference aims to examine the role of Ancient Khuttal in long-term historical processes, analyze cultural continuity in Central Asia and assess its contribution to the formation of national consciousness and identity among the Tajik people.
The event will bring together archaeologists, historians, numismatists, linguists, epigraphists, art historians and cultural scholars to present new research findings, theoretical insights and recent academic achievements.
Organizers say the conference will both honor the rich historical and cultural legacy of the region and strengthen the academic foundations of national identity, while promoting scholarly cooperation and enhancing the international profile of Tajikistan’s cultural heritage.
