Tajik Parliament Approves Amendments to Laws on Judiciary, Health, Pensions

Lawmakers in Tajikistan on Wednesday approved a series of legislative measures, including amendments to laws on the judiciary, health care, pensions and social services, during a regular parliamentary session.

The meeting of the lower chamber, the Majlisi namoyandagon, was chaired by Speaker Faizali Idizoda, according to a statement cited by the state news agency Khovar.

Deputies reviewed and adopted a draft constitutional law on amendments to the law “On the Courts of the Republic of Tajikistan,” as well as a draft law introducing changes to the country’s Health Code.

Parliament also considered and approved an agreement on the establishment of a universal center to counter security challenges and threats among member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In addition, lawmakers passed amendments to several existing laws, including those on insurance and state pensions, local self-government in settlements and villages, social services, and food safety.
