The Council of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, seventh convocation was held in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Majlisi Milli Chairman and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali.
According to the agenda, members considered 47 items, including a series of constitutional laws, legislative amendments, and personnel matters.
Lawmakers reviewed and approved constitutional amendments to the laws “On Courts of the Republic of Tajikistan” and “On the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan,” as well as legislation on primary vocational education and on the protection of the rights and social guarantees of persons with disabilities.
The Council also adopted amendments and additions to several codes, including the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, Labor, Health, and Tax Codes of Tajikistan.
In addition, members examined 30 draft laws introducing further amendments and supplements to existing legislation.
Personnel issues on the agenda included proposals from the President of Tajikistan regarding the termination and election of judges to the Constitutional Court, the recall of a Supreme Court judge, and the recall and election of judges to the Supreme Economic Court.
